THE COLOR ANALYSIS PROCESS

UNDERSTANDING COLOR

We will discuss your current relationship with color and what you're hoping to achieve from color analysis. Then, I will provide an introduction to color theory and the dimensions of color, such as hue, value and chroma. These dimensions will help you understand what I'm seeing, when I begin draping. We'll also discuss effects like simultaneous contrast and other optical illusions.

DRAPING

Draping refers to holding up different 'drapes' of fabric under your face and noticing what different effects they have on you. I'll be looking at your jawline, skin, eyes, vitality and overall impact.

I start with the 'Key' drapes, representative of Summer, Spring, Winter and Autumn Seasons. Then, we'll try each of the True Seasons, to move towards a particular quadrant of the seasonal color wheel.

Once we think we've landed in the right place, I'll do 'cross-checks' with other Seasons, to make sure we didn't miss any other Seasons that could benefit you.

You will learn your 'tell tale' signs for colors that aren't optimal for you, which you can put into practice when you get home, review your wardrobe or go shopping. I will be verbalizing what I'm seeing throughout the draping process, so that you will be constantly learning.

EMBEDDING INTO YOUR SEASON

After we've landed on your best Season, we will revisit the particular dimensions of that Seasons, such as hue, value and chroma. We will discuss optimal make-up and jewelry as well.

I send all clients a follow-up email, packed with information about your Season, educational videos, my extensive Pinterest boards and other tips.

SWATCHING

Finally, we will practice 'swatching', which is using color palettes to classify different items, such as clothing, into Seasons. Swatching is about overall visual harmony, and not about matching individual color 'squares' to palettes. We will practice this together, as this is an important part of putting your Season into practice, if you intend on optimizing your closet around your Season.
