Generally not. I have a lot of studio equipment, including the drapes, neutral lighting and a neutral background screen. I may consider driving for group bookings within 2 hours of Durham, NC but this would be a custom session. Please contact me to discuss.
Generally not, but you can contact me to discuss. It takes around 2 hours+ to do a thorough in-depth analysis and can be surprisingly tiring for both the analyst and the client because it’s intensive and focused. I can do two people in a day, maybe three.
There is a 20-30 minute introduction to color analysis at the beginning of a session, which I can do for larger groups, or I could demo the process on one person to a larger group. Alternatively I could do a session around color swatching to establish which season clothing items or other items might fall into.
I trained as a color analyst with Cate Linden in 2024 and am certified under Your Natural Design by Terry Wildfong who follows the 12-Tone Personal Color Analysis Sci\ART™ Method.
Currently, I don’t - reason being, personal color analysis is an educational, interactive experience and you will still have gained an understanding of the effects of hue, value, temperature and chroma on you. I do have a network of other analysts I can consult with if you are a trickier drape (!) or if we are really not aligning visually on the effects.
While I do not anticipate any issues, if you are unhappy with anything in the session, I am always open to feedback and discussion.
No! Diagnosing seasons based on individual traits like skin, hair or eyes is a largely ‘old fashioned’ and debunked method. You can have light skin/hair/eyes in the ‘dark’ Seasons and dark skin/hair/eyes in the ‘light’ Seasons. Personal color analysis is about observing unique changes to an individual that result from color changes between different drapes. There are few hard and fast rules!
I use swatch books/fans and drapes from from NDU Colors (Natural Design United). I believe they accurately capture the essence of each individual season. I also have additional drapes to show the beauty and variety of each season.
The Colonial Inn is a boutique historical hotel in downtown Hillsborough. Otherwise, there is a Holiday Inn in town, or a Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham.
I would recommend the Wooden Nickel pub if you’re visiting Hillsborough. It has great food and relatively quick service. Otherwise, there are many to choose from.
Color analysis is a non-standardized field. There are different processes and different analytical tools (like palettes), which will inevitably yield different results. If you have an alternative or conflicting analysis, we can explore why that could be, and discuss the benefits of the other seasons on you. Ultimately, I can give you my opinion but it is your choice as far as which season you think looks best on you and which one you will want to embrace!
